I would like to express my pleasure and pride, that you have shown interest in us by visiting our site.

As the honorary President, I am happy to share the succes story of Demirayak Group of Companies in more than 50 years.

The story of Demirayak Family's business venture that started in the 1924 had a major milestone in 1954 with BİZİM BAKKALİYE (Our Grocer's), a name invented by me and it took on quite a different dimension upon the establishment of Dempaş in 1974. We have managed to attain the present level thanks to our constant struggle, ambition, determination and courage.

When I close my eyes and make a journey back to be past in the back of my mind, I recall all the stages we have so far undergone so vividly as if they just happened yesterday. I think to myself wondering how many companies could succeed in surviving half a century and creating a brand name in Turkey and in our region. To be honest, I do not have an answer to it. However, I believe that it would be helpful to reveal the success stories of those companies, which have had this privilege.

The only truth that I know for sure is that the present place where Demirayak Group of Companies stands at present is the result of all of its employees and it is also the result of the determination of us as the shareholders to serve perseveringly and of our commercial ethics. Another truth we righteously take pride in is that we have had the privilege of enjoying the trust of our business associates who have stood by us regardless of all those hard times in the history of the national economy. What I mean is that all these people have helped us carry Demirayak Group of Companies to the present time with their moral, intellectual and material efforts.

Having managed to survive all the ups and downs, which took place as the consequences the inseparable and unavoidable realities of business life, we are presently able to work hand in hand with many local and multinational companies that have achieved many exemplary success cases in Turkey to date. We are keeping abreast of the contemporary times by adapting their teachings to our companies and culture. We provide employment for hundreds of people as we have a part in the economic and social development of our region.

Today, I feel pride and peace over handing back my turn in this flag running to the third generation of Demirayak Family for continuation of our company, which has been left over to us from my father.

I am so happy that although I am no longer actively involved in operation, I am still able to embrace and protect our company with my attention, advise, encouragement and wealth of knowledge. However, I do know that the shareholders and professional staff can carry our companies forward based on an understanding of effective, efficient and rational management by working hand in hand.

The biggest joy in my life is that, I lead a healthy life throughout the period from my father, Şükrü Demirayak, to my son, Şükrü Demirayak. Another happiness I have is that I have witnessed Turkey start preparations for full membership with the European Union. Facing the East, my country is now in an irreversible path to full membership with the European Union. Entities like Dempaş will contribute to this development and this new era shall take us to even greater successes. I am so hopeful of the future, my country and Demirayak Group of Companies.
